Terms and Conditions

Studio Alume Return Policy

  • Returns will not be accepted without the original packaging, under any circumstances. This policy is strictly enforced with no exceptions.
  • A 20% restocking fee will apply to all returned products accepted by Studio Alume due to a change of mind, provided the items are in as-new condition.
  • By accepting products, customers agree to the order as placed, unless Studio Alume is notified in writing within 7 days of receiving the items.
  • For returns due to a change of mind, customers are responsible for freight charges, which must be arranged through Studio Alume’s preferred transport carrier.
  • Returns will not be accepted for bespoke lampshades, pendant orders, or any installed items.
  • No returns will be accepted for indent orders.

Order Cancellations

  • Orders confirmed (verbally or in writing) can only be cancelled if written notice is received within 7 days of placing the order. Deposits are non refundable.
  • For special or indent orders, cancellation is only allowed within 7 days of placing the order, with a non-refundable deposit.
  • For bespoke lampshades and pendant orders, once a deposit is received, or a confirmation is made (either verbally or in writing), the order is considered confirmed. Manufacturing begins once the deposit is received, and the deposit is non-refundable.
  • If a lampshade or pendant order is cancelled or changed after manufacturing begins, additional costs will apply.

12-Month Limited Warranty

  • Studio Alume offers a 12-month warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in materials or workmanship to lampshades only.
  • The warranty does not cover defects caused by misuse, neglect, improper operation, instalation or mishandling.
  • Any product defects will be addressed with repair or replacement, at our discretion, at no charge.
  • Studio Alume is not liable for damage to persons or property arising from improper use or installation.
  • Under no circumstances will Studio Alume be liable for special or consequential damages.
  • The warranty is limited to the cost of repairing or replacing the defective item.
  • Written notice of defective products must be sent to Studio Alume within 7 days of delivery, including detailed photos of the damaged item.

Damages Claims

  • Claims for damaged goods must be made within 7 days of delivery.
  • All damage claims must be submitted in writing with clear images of the damaged items.
  • This applies to all orders, including those held in storage.

Transportation Damages

  • If customers use their own carrier for delivery, Studio Alume will not be responsible for any damages incurred during transit.
  • Once goods leave Studio Alume’s warehouse, they are the responsibility of the customer, except when Studio Alume’s chosen carrier is used.

Lampshades & Pendants: Damages/Claims

  • Lampshades and pendants are fragile and should be inspected immediately upon receipt.
  • Any claims for damages must be made within 24 hours of receiving the items, in writing, with supporting photos.
  • Claims will only be considered if the above conditions are met.
  • This policy applies to all orders, including those stored for extended periods.

Lampshade Fabrics

  • Fabrics used in lampshades (such as silks, linens and rattans) may have natural imperfections and cannot be exchanged based on these factors.
  • If a flawless fabric is desired, customers should either choose a non-natural fabric or provide their own fabric.
  • The final order confirms the fabric selection, and minor variations in texture or colour may occur between batches.
  • If concerns arise about fabric selection, it is the customer's responsibility to request a fabric swatch before manufacturing begins.

Finishes & Colour Representation

  • Studio Alume strives for accurate product representation, but natural variations in colours and finishes may occur.
  • Differences in monitor settings and the handcrafted nature of our products may result in slight coluor discrepancies.
  • If absolute colour precision is required, it is the customer's responsibility to ensure expectations are met before placing an order.
  • Studio Alume will not accept returns due to colour variations.

Lamp Refurbishment

  • Lamp base refurbishment, including re-wiring, is not a standard service and will be considered at Studio Alume's discretion.
  • A minimum charge of $90 + GST per hour, plus material costs, will apply.
  • No warranty is provided on refurbished lamps.
  • An estimate can be given, but repair costs may vary based on the lamp's age and condition.

Order Confirmation

  • By placing an order, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined here.
  • Ensure all items on your invoice are correct before confirming.
  • A deposit indicates acceptance of the quoted items and confirmation of their accuracy.
  • Deposits are non-refundable, and change of mind will not be accepted as a reason for a refund.

Freight & Delivery

  • Freight charges are non-negotiable and non-refundable, outsourced by Studio Alume.
  • Estimated delivery dates are tentative and subject to change due to shipment delays.
  • Delivery dates are only confirmed once goods are paid in full.
  • Clients must ensure sufficient space and access for delivery/installation. Additional fees may apply if this is not provided.
  • Any changes to delivery details may incur additional fees.
  • If goods are faulty upon delivery, Studio Alume must be notified within 24 hours.
  • Ownership of goods transfers only once full payment is received.

Payment

  • Payments must be made by the due date on the invoice. Late payments may incur penalties.
  • A 1.75% processing fee applies to credit card payments.
